Far be it from me to wish Hillary Rodham Clinton anything but robust good health. But might it not be that there are influential Democrats who would now wish to see her spared the stress of an office won by what now promises to be a slender margin? It is not as if there isn't another spouse of a (soon-to-be) former president with excellent Ivy League law school credentials.
Improbable? Did any of us expect David Cameron to announce that he would not be standing in the next election? And Donald Trump is further proof that the improbable is the new normal.
